Basic Biology...
|
Our 3rd and 5th grade students passed a 8th-9th grade biology unit study and had fun doing it. We used fish that we'd caught for the dissection unit. We went on nature walks with a camera to get pictures of reptiles like snakes and turtles(which we had found). Our children both scored in the high 90s on the final!

The world Geography unit we are currently doing is done in a costume party fashion, inviting other homeschooling famlies over, while the kids create the meal that is to be of the country that they are representing that day. The children and parents are having so much fun they forget it is school that they are doing and ask if they can continue through the summer too!

The solar system...and astronomy...
|
All six students who participated in the unit learned alot by doing things that opened up the whole universe to them. They completed the unit in 12 weeks, and ranged in age from 1st -5th grade. The unit was made up of Jr High material.
